Research & Synthesize

Immediately I began identifying issues I deal with on a daily basis. As a child of immigrants, a task that weighs on me is keeping effective and consistent communication with my family which lives abroad. I have used many different apps to stay in touch like social media, What’s app, and Viber. However, these days it can be so difficult to make time for calls when everyone lives such busy lives in different time zones… and texting back often slips my mind.

FOND is an app which helps family and friends stay easily connected across long distances. The focus of this app is offer new features not seen on similar platforms in oder to promote effective communication and ease the stress of it’s users.

I was able to identify and create user persona’s based on the card sorting activity and interviews conducted at the beginning of the research process.

I began creating low-fidelity wireframes in and basic user flows in Adobe XD.

I began conducting research with young adults on the University of Michigan Ann Arbor campus, my target audience for this study and app. This is my first time conducting a card sorting activity.
